Agile Cities is an initiative by Metropolis, Living Labs Global, The Climate Group, Citymart.com and the Technology Strategy Board to improve the process for how cities identify their needs and discover global solutions. Cities are facing major challenges including immigration, aging populations, climate change, economic constraints and aging infrastructure or the need to rapidly build new infrastructure. Agile Cities will support cities in creating strategies around the use of new technologies such as IT and telecoms to enable city services, and provide a concrete platform – Citymart.com – for linking cities with solution providers in an intelligent marketplace.
